Ticker Roast
$GME
Roasted by Rude Boy Finance
Somebody typed $GME into a roast machine instead of a brokerage. On brand. Listen up. You are not a trader. You are a bag holder with Reddit notifications and a Discord that taught you to buy the dips until you became the dip. GME is a brick-and-mortar video game retailer that tried to become a meme and called it a turnaround. The insiders are not buying. No institutional research team on Earth wants to touch this corpse with a grant application, let alone a conviction call.
The numbers? Last quarter GME printed 972 million in revenue off a gaming market that is moving entirely to digital distribution. Their operating margin is 6.8 percent, which sounds fine until you remember they are shrinking. Two quarters ago they were bleeding cash at minus 110 million and losing money. They have twenty-eight million in long-term debt and no secular tailwinds. Gross margin is 29 percent because they discount. They are not a growth stock and they are not a value stock. They are a patience test that the market failed years ago.
The insider trading desk is empty. Nobody who actually runs this company is stupid enough to buy their own stock. That silence is the real number.
You bought GameStop thinking you were organizing a revolution. You got organized by yourself into bag holding. The market moved to Steam and Discord. You are still there waiting for the sequel to a game that is already over.
